Lede Design System: Posts and Pages

Lede is built with WordPress and the content of articles and pages (such as an About Us page) is built with the Gutenberg block editor. Check out Block Demo pages to see how Gutenberg blocks work with Lede.

Some aspects of the article pages around the article content can be customized. The featured image layout can be customized on a per-article basis, while the the eyebrow and article river styles can be configured in the Lede menu.

Featured Image

An article's featured image is the image that displays at the top of the article and in article cards throughout the site. There are many layout options for an article's featured image on the article page. One option is to hide the featured image. The other layout options include:

  • Default (Example of the default layout)
  • Full-width image with article data, including headline, above the image (Example)
  • Full-width image with article data on image bottom (Example)
  • Full-width image with article data on image top (Example)
  • Full-width image with article data under image (Example)
  • Vertical image with article data to the left of image (Example)
  • Vertical image with article data to the right of image (Example)

Eyebrow Styles

Eyebrows are descriptive keywords or phrases that are placed above the main headline or blurb. On Lede, eyebrows are the article's primary category.

Article River Content

The article river is the recirculation module below the article. It displays 6 articles. Publishers can choose how the articles are generated

  • Default - the most recent 6 articles
  • Category - the most recent 6 articles from the current's articles primary category.

Article River Layout

There are two options for the article river layout:

  • Default - a vertical list of articles
  • Three-across - a grid of articles
