The Cedar County Fair opens its gates next Thursday, marking more than a century of livestock shows, pie contests, and grandstand entertainment. Organizers say this year's schedule includes a new 4-H robotics exhibit alongside the traditional cattle judging.
"We wanted to keep everything folks love while giving the younger crowd something to get excited about," said fair board president Marla Renquist. The demolition derby remains the Saturday-night headliner, and the quilt barn will feature 84 entries from across the region.
Gate admission holds steady at $8, with children under ten admitted free. Parking is available in the north lot off County Road 9.
