Responding to steady feedback, the public library will stay open two additional evenings each week beginning in June. The change follows a survey in which patrons overwhelmingly asked for later access, particularly for students and shift workers.
Head librarian Susan Ackley said the board approved the expansion without raising the levy. "We shifted some scheduling around and made it work within what we already had," she noted. The library will now close at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
New programming, including a monthly repair café and a teen writing group, is also in the works.
