A handful of family farms have joined forces to launch a Saturday market on the courthouse square, offering everything from heirloom tomatoes to jars of clover honey. The market fills a gap left when the previous vendor lot closed two years ago.
"We're stronger showing up together than any of us would be alone," said vendor Carol Whitfield, who raises goats and sells soap. Early turnout has been strong, with several stalls selling out before noon.
The market runs weekly through October, weather permitting, and welcomes new local vendors.
